“Between october 7th and october 14th 1996 Joachim Stein painted the garbage containers in Limburger Straße, Diez / Germany yellow.”
Four photographs, 60×40 cm, two showing Limburger Straße with grey garbage containers, two showing Limburger Straße with yellow garbage containers, are presented along with a gray garbage container, which is filled with 270 l of yellow paint. On the Lid is a sign containing a Map and the text above.
The work was presented at Färgfabriken (paint factory) in Stockholm.
“Actually garbage containers are yellow in that part of Germany. I painted them grey. But you can’t see that on the photos” Stein when asked about his intention in painting garbage containers yellow.
