yellow paint
“Between october 7th and october 14th 1996 Joachim Stein painted the garbage containers in Limburger Straße, Diez / Germany yellow.”
Four photographs, 60×40 cm, two showing Limburger Straße with gray garbage containers, two showing Limburger Straße with yellow garbage containers, are presented along with a gray garbage container, which is filled with 270 l of yellow paint. On the Lid is a sign containing a Map and the text above.
The work was presented at Färgfabriken [paint factory] in Stockholm.

“Actually garbage containers are yellow in that part of Germany. I painted them gray. But you can’t see that on the photos” Stein when asked about his intention in painting garbage containers yellow.
There is no mission statement for this blog. “Works & Interventions” contains a selection of artistic experiments from more than a decade. Some of them were done with collaborators. I produce a relatively small amount of work of that kind and I don't write blog entries every day (Mostly in English, sometimes in German).
