Pimp My Mac
27 August 2006After I got a bean bag as an alternative work environment the only thing that reminds me painfully of my physical existence is that razor sharp edge at the front side of my MacBook 1. I am convinced that the housing consists of material that is perfectly fine for shaping a blade of it.
Today I bought sand paper and gave the edge a little touch with it. The result is excellent. As I type this I don’t feel the slightest annoyance, the newly rounded edge feels great and I almost want to caress it while typing.
Instructions:
- get fine sand paper (I used 240 – I guess that is grains per square centimeter)
- prepare a small glass of water
- have a piece of tissue at hand
- start sanding the outer edge with circular movements
- use the tissue for wetting the edge
- continue to emerizing with little pressure
- clean off water and dust
(1) Especially after the last firmware update that optimizes fan activity and reduces the radiated heat considerably
There is no mission statement for this blog. “Works & Interventions” contains a selection of artistic experiments from more than a decade. Some of them were done with collaborators. I produce a relatively small amount of work of that kind and I don't write blog entries every day (Mostly in English, sometimes in German).
